Not every part of running a moving company happens in a truck or a driveway. Some of it happens standing behind a folding table on a Tuesday evening, talking to neighbors about their plans, their homes, and occasionally, their next move.
That was Ashland Public Safety Night — and we were glad to be there.
A great day at Ashland Public Safety Night! We were happy to join our local community alongside Ashland Police, Fire Department, State Police, local businesses, and so many families.
Public Safety Night brought out exactly who you’d hope to see: Ashland Police and Fire, State Police, a lineup of local businesses, and families who came out to make an evening of it. Kids climbed into the cruisers and trucks parked around the lot, and the K9 unit put on a show that pulled in a crowd of its own.
Our booth was set up right alongside it all — one of our trucks parked behind the table, which made for a pretty fitting backdrop for a night about the people who keep a community running day to day.
Most of what we post about is the work itself — packing, loading, getting a home from one place to the next. Nights like this are a reminder that we’re also just a small business in this town, and it’s a good excuse to talk to people who aren’t in the middle of a move at all. Some conversations were about upcoming moves. Most weren’t. That’s fine — it’s part of why events like this are worth showing up for.
Thanks to Ashland PD, the Fire Department, State Police, the other businesses who set up alongside us, and everyone who stopped by to say hi. We’ll be back for the next one.
